Feb 18th 2009 Winslet

Figured my drawings were in dire need of some proper figure studies, so here’s a first attempt at kate winslet. She looks a bit more gaunt these days unfortunately.

Jan 21st 2009 A couple of fixes

Hi everyone, I have found some time to tinker with the website and correct a few things, the header/banner sucked so I replaced it with a generic one (still can’t figure out how to remove the black text in the upper right corner).

But now the commenting feature should be fixed - no more typing black text on a black background! I’ve changed the background colours a little so that later on when I go to polish things, I know what part of the code affects what region of the layout.

Oct 3rd 2008

I found this in one of my art books, It looks like it was supposed to be a remake of the Aryon sitting on a rock from my old website layout.

Sep 30th 2008 Drawing & another song

Seems like forever since i’ve picked up a pencil and actually drawn something substantial (besides scribbles during lectures). Found an unfinished drawing on my desk the other night and was really taken back by the piercing blue eyes, so I finished it.

Here’s a rather rough recording of What I’ve Done, by Linkin Park as well. It was REALLY hard to sing!

To celebrate the reinstallation of user-friendly windows, I’ve added a couple of 3D head sculpts. Enjoy!

Sep 5th 2008 What’s so good about drinking?

I hate drinking, having such an acute sense of taste makes the taste of alcohol like a punch in my mouth of bitterness. The only option that’s tolerable, are lolly-waters, but what’s the point in drinking those?
a) you look like a wuss (for guys)
b) you’re only drinking it because it tastes like a soft-drink, why not just buy a soft drink, it’s cheaper!
If you don’t want to look like a wuss, you just bite the bullet and swollow it down, waiting for the 2-4th drink to kick in where you can no longer taste the bitterness, but at some point you got to ask yourself ‘why the hell am I putting myself through this torture?’.

I’ve heard people proclaim that alcohol is an acquired taste. This horrible for folks such as I who have twice the taste-sensitivity and hate the stuff, so again you got to put yourself through (expensive) hell just to acquire the taste for it, and for what? So you can look cool when partying? (which you won’t!) To fit in with the crowd? Why should we want to be part of something like that?

Now I can understand that people like to have a drink or two to unwind/relax, but it never happens that way does it? No, because you’re out to party, to have fun! You usually get shown-up by some 160kg guy who can drink half a liquor store in a single shot without blinking an eye, and you (stupidly) start to try matching his pace drink-for-drink. Or in other cases, you get drinks pushed in front of your face when other people are shouting for ya - or worse, you have no idea what on earth you’re drinking!. More often than not, regardless of any limitations you put in place for yourself, you will most likely get smashed due to the atmosphere you’re in when with your mates.

Here’s a breakdown of what generally happens (not all 5 cases happen each time or for everybody):

  1. Going broke for buying drinks that taste like shit
  2. Getting so drunk that you make an ass of yourself
  3. (in extreme cases) Throwing up everything u ate and drank (and payed for!)
  4. Getting a hangover the next day and no memory of the supposed ‘good time’ u claimed to have had.
  5. Being made fun of by your mates that were more sober than you to witness your stupidity the previous night.

Somehow I don’t see any part of that list enjoyable, or tolerable, even if the night was awesome. I think that if you want to have a good time, watching other drunks doing stupid things is more fun than actually becoming one of them - you’ll remember it the next day as well!

Aug 7th 2008 Paige Digital Ink

Haha, probably not the best automatic crop-thumbnail ever but it’ll do. I’ve been working on a 3D posable manequin, and it’s almost finished (hands incomplete). This is just one of the poses I drew while having a fiddle with the controls (an otherwise impossible feat if I had tried drawing from my mind). Not happy about the skintones though.

Made with Painter with colour corrections in Photoshop.
