A new quickie, haven’t updated in a while - been fiddling with inks that I can’t be bothered scanning in. Trying out a new brush in Corel Painter X.

A manga variation of Paige. For those who are wondering, she does not seem to be in the same outfit every time I have drawn her, this is because of a disfigurement curse she has during the story which gets removed at some point. Up until this point she has a tendency to wear outfits that hide it (see the purple drawing of a hooded Paige in the gallery), and only slowly begins to adopt her final outfit seen here from my old website. I know she’d look better without the stockings in this drawing, but it goes with her character.

I’m planning to sell this drawing for around $35, since it took me 3.5 hours to make. If you wish to buy it from me, let me know in person, via email, phone or facebook. I’m not posting a contact address because I can only sell it to someone in person, and only those who know me know about this website anyway.

It’s drawn on an A4 piece of paper, which can be cropped a bit to fit inside a frame. I might consider doing a coloured version of it if there is a request for it, but the process will involve erasing the pencil shading from the inkwork.

Hey hey! I was playing around in mudbox and while I was showing a friend a screenshot of what I had so far, I thought it would be fun to do a paint-over of Aryon! Yeah I know it’s not a realistic blend of the 3D&2D, but it was fun and quick. Enjoy!

After a discussion with a fellow story-writing friend of mine, came to the conclusion that Aryon (number 6) did not suit his character, and so I have done a new version that perhaps suits better. Made with Corel Painter X.

Ahhh! Feels good to have some free time without having to worry about assignments!
This is a progress shot of Aryon 6, different hairstyle as usual, this time I used Adobe Photoshop since it’s less sluggish at enormous screen resolutions (3.5k x 5k pixels) than Corel Painter.

Just to let you know, this is only a crop of his head which is complete, the full body will follow at some point, but the linework is painstakingly slow… Wacom tablet is too slick and giving me squiggly strokes that I have to CONSTANTLY undo, retry, undo, retry, erase… Perhaps next time I will use a pencil.
